StudyBlue is, in their own words, “The new way the world learns. Together.” IT IS SO NEAT PEOPLE!

It has helped me memorise my poems for exams and learn new French vocabulary. I can’t rate it highly enough so if you want a little tour… look no bleeding further!

On the Free StudyBlue app (apple and android folks) you can view your recent searches, recent studied and your backpack. Your backpack is a store of all the flashcard decks you have made and any others that you have “taken” from other people.

In Offline mode you can only view the main page (the left picture) and only study recently studied decks, but they are in order rather than shuffled.

Whilst studying you just tap to switch to the answer and choose either green or red to say whether you got it right. It tracks on the right side your progress through the deck. If you need to stop during your study you press “I’m Done”.

At the end of a session it tells you your score overall, how many you got right and your progress is pretty much your scores in percentages taken as an average, so you can see how well you’re doing in a bigger context.

When you have internet on your phone you can make new decks in the app itself, but to be honest it is a fiddle and it is much easier to make new decks on a computer, as shown below!

You can, on the StudyBlue website, do quizzes and tests of your flashcard decks – StudyBlue does it all for you.

You can also make and edit decks online as well.

Not only that, but once you have made some decks and your friends are slavering at your feet to use those decks they can just nick em using the Save to backpack button and test themselves with the deck! How funky is that?!

But obviously, you can steal other decks too by using the search function on the top right on the website or using the app as well. If you are searching for French vocabulary, type “french vocab” or “french vocabulary”. I thought there wouldn’t be any thing for the qualifications I am doing (Higher in Scotland woo woo) but surprisingly, there was! You might find other people in your school use it too.

I hope to take Japan and geishas / kimonos as inspiration for a “collection” (I use the term loosely because it really isn’t but there isn’t another term to call it..). Or at the least, I will use Japan as inspiration for next year in art.

The image is quite old and is a research sheet for my design unit in art, before it was all stuck down. It’s all changed now but I still like how it was at first.
